What is the Escape retreat? Escape is an amazing weekend of for young adults, ages 18-26, to escape the constant attacks of this world. This is a chance for them to catch their breath, be renewed, and head back out re-equipped and with a new since of purpose.

Why does it exist? In many conversations with youth ministers and parents we were tired of hearing stories of our former students walking away from the Faith after high school. In the age of, “Someone should do something,” this is our response.

How does it work? Starting on Friday night, everyone is split up in to small groups. These small groups allow for deeper discussions, but also give those who have not grown up in the camp a chance to feel like they are part of what is going on. We utilize camp area ministers for our messages during the weekend; so that our participants hear familiar voices and our speakers have a chance to catch up with the young adults from their congregations. On Saturday night, we plan an awesome surprise for our participants. This gives them an easy recruiting tool for next year and helps deepen some friendships that are forming. Sunday morning we have a brief worship service and take communion together. They are dismissed by 9am, and encouraged to head to their church families for worship.

When is it? December 21-23. Check-In starts at 7pm and runs all night. We have tried earlier and later dates and found that our attendance suffered dramatically. The weekend before Christmas is our best shot at reaching our college students and those that are in the workforce.
